I have been a resident of the Fountain View/Watermark for almost 8 years. I moved here with my husband Norman in 2013. Together we had created Salon Norman Dee, a hair salon that enjoyed a highly respected local, national and international reputation. In addition, I had become a guest educator for Clairol, Proctor and Gamble and served on the Board of Clairol’s Professional Products Division. My affiliation with Intercoiffure America Canada sent me to participate in educational seminars in Italy, Germany, France and London.
Norman had a stroke in 2003, and because of his illness we were forced to sell the salon in 2005. We moved to the Watermark together, but he passed away in 2015.
In the years since I moved here, I have been involved in numerous activities. I have been a member of the Residents Council, served as its Vice President under two Presidents, and took over the reins of the presidency in October of 2020 following the death of President Glorya Brown. I have been Chairman of the Welcoming Committee for 6 years, served as chairperson of the Food Committee for five years and I have spoken at Discovery Luncheons for prospective residents. I co-chaired the Thrift Shop for 2 years, extending the hours it was open so that the income from Thrift Shop sales increased. I helped get the electronic bulletin Boards that announce the daily activities installed on the first and fourth floors, among other things.
My overall desire is to help make the lives of all Fountain View residents the best it can be and to help assure that they enjoy living here.
