I was born in Germantown Hospital, Philadelphia. I was the first born with four brothers, and we grew up in west oak lane and later in Oreland, PA. I attended Springfield township schools.
I graduated from East Stroudsburg State College with a B.S. in elementary education, where I also played football. I received my master’s in Education Administration at Lehigh University.
I taught grades 1-7 and was building principal for 34 years in the North Penn school district.
I was active in the Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church in Oreland, and in Boy Scout Troop 1 for seven years. I received the Pro Deo et Patria award. I was active in youth group, serving as president for 2 years.
Carol and I have a son and daughter who both graduated from the Upper Perkiomen school district. Martin III and Sara have given us four grandchildren.
I served on the Saint Marks, Pennsburg, PA church council for 6 years. I officiated high school football, ice hockey, and lacrosse. I also served as secretary for the North Penn chapter in PIAA.
Having served on other councils and organizations has given me a foundation and sends of importance in serving my peers, by listening and helping those who need help.
Presently at the Fountain View, I enjoy the chess group, acrylic painting, and visiting the fitness room.
